ADAN Welcomes New Parishes and Publishes Theological Journal
By:
- Felix Orji
Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
I have a few important things to share with you. Please share this email with your congregations.
Prologue
We thank God for the hard and sometimes thankless work many Clergy and Laity do in the parish. The Lord Jesus will reward you in due time so be patient and stay spiritually hydrated with your eyes fixed on Jesus who is the author and finisher of our Faith.
All clergy in the Diocese are expected to lead their parishes with kindness, gentleness, and godly love under the authority of the Bible. In addition, we expect clergy to be agents of unity, conscientious in fulfilling their clerical duties, and godly examples for the church. We expect you to follow the Diocesan Constitution & Canons, adhere to your Parish Bylaws, and pay heed to the guidance of the Bishop especially in times of conflict in your parish. It is my hope that both clergy and laity will serve the Lord in the beauty of holiness for the good and progress of the Church. It is a dangerous thing to hinder God’s work because of bitterness of heart toward others or because you think your ideas are better than that of others.
Humility is an absolute necessity in the ministry of the gospel. Listen to God and listen to one another so that you don’t become a stumbling block in the house of God!
Welcome to the Diocese
We warmly welcome Rev. Canon Jeremiah O. Aderemi, Rector of All Souls Anglican Church, Calgary and Anglican Church Yukon; Rev. Joseph Olanrewaju Owoeye, Associate Rector of All Souls Anglican Church, Calgary ; and Rev. Jude Olurotimi Aworuwa, Rector of Anglican Church Edmonton to our Diocese. May the Lord bless them and their ministry as they join us in the mission and ministry of our Diocese.
New Church Plants
I am pleased to inform you that we are beginning a new church plant in Tampa, Florida at the initiation of Venerable Dr Charles Tashie. By God’s grace I had a fruitful meeting with them this past weekend in addition to meetings with other congregations/leaders this past week. This is the second church plant Venerable Dr Tashie is embarking on within a space of four months after starting Our Savior Anglican Church in Atlanta, GA late last Fall. Please pray for him and the two young congregations.
Please pray for Rev Ryan Cason and St Augustine of Canterbury in Denver, Colorado. This congregation that started late in January is already growing and asking to be allowed to give their tithe to the Diocese.
Stewardship
We thank Christ Church Cathedral El Paso and Trinity in the Market-place in Albuquerque, NM for their generous gift last Christmas in addition to their generous monthly contributions. We remind all rectors to ensure your parish makes your monthly financial contributions to the Diocese.
Church of England pauses proposals for same-sex blessing ceremonies
According to Nayana Mena(Premier Christian News) “The Church of England’s General Synod has voted to pause its flagship Living in Love and Faith (LLF) process, bringing to an end three years of work on proposals to bless same-sex couples and leaving ongoing divisions unresolved.” The pause by the Church of England on developing a seperate service for homosexual marriages is a welcome move but that is all it is- a temporary pause due to canonical and legal reasons. They will return to it the moment they find a way to get around the legal-canonical impediments. Thats why it’s a pause, not a hard stop. This pause is not an act of repentance or remorse for their sinful tragectry on homosexuality over the years and it does not mean they have changed their position on same-sex relationships. It is simply a PAUSE until the road is clear to proceed. No right thinking conservative can or should be fooled by this sly liberal obfuscation! (See Church of England halts Living in Love and Faith process amid ongoing division; Church of England abandons proposals for same-sex blessing ceremonies)
Congratulations to Sir Chief Oraedu
On the 9th of January 2026, Sir Ike Oraedu, the President of ADAN Council of Knights, was bestowed with a chieftancy title of Ugo Oba by Igwe Ezeokpoko II. This was in recognition of the numerous philantropic projects he has performed in his hometown of Oba, Nigeria. He is now a member of the traditional ruling cabinet of Oba town. We congratulate the new Ugo Oba, Sir Chief Ike Oraedu.
ADAN THEOLOGICA
I’m pleased to inform you that we now have our maiden(first) publication of ADAN Theologica. We appreciate the painstaking work of the Director of ADAN Theologica, Venerable Professor Godspower Ugboh and the clergy(Ven Isaac Rehberg, Ven Dr Ugboh, and Rev Dr Michael Storey) who submitted Articles in response to our request for Articles. Please take time to read their insightful Articles.
My prayer is that the Holy Spirit will keep us strong and faithful to Christ and his Word and in his mercy guide us into a full realization of the immensity of God’s love and purpose for us. Amen.
Warm regards,
The Rt Rev’d Dr Felix Orji, OSB.
